FILM POSTER

My Own Film Poster
For my film poster, I knew I wanted to incorporate my character, Jack Masters, as he is the centre to the plot. I felt that other characters which were vital with my trailer were both detectives. When shooting the interview scene I made use that there was a shot positioning myself centre frame, with the other two characters each side. I incorporated direct eye contact with the audience from myself while directed the other two to be looking at me, capturing the audiences attention while raising their suspicions of myself. Moreover, the concerned facial expressions from each character summaries the tone of the trailer with the detectives, Jack and the audience second guessing each story. The visual clues of the red blood on the back wall connotes murder- signalling to the audiences the genre of the film. The title font is consistent with the rest of marketing products such as my film website and the letters used within the trailer. I decided to incorporate awards, giving the poster an authenticity. To emphasise the focus on Jack being the protagonist- or perhaps antagonist- I used a black and white filter for the other while kept myself to an only dimmed filter. I believe my film poster follows conventions while summarising the plot, conveying the genre and enticing the audience to find out more.
